One consultation fee of $69, taken when you book. It covers your nurse call and your doctor consultation. If a pharmacy charges you for anything after that, the pharmacy sets that price and tells you what it is. This page explains why.

The part we cannot quote
The pharmacy quotes you directly.
If something is prescribed, the pharmacy that fills it sets what it costs and quotes you before anything is dispensed. That price is theirs, not ours, and it sits outside what we control.
Neither the PBS nor Medicare pays towards this, so what the pharmacy quotes is what you pay. What we can give you is the order things happen in, and who to ask at each point. That is the rest of this page.
Our own side of it is simple. The consultation fee is the only money that reaches us, whatever is decided, because we do not own or operate a pharmacy.
Before you book
Where each payment goes, and to whom.
Set out as a sequence rather than a price list, because the question people arrive with is usually whether there is another number sitting behind the first one.
If you get to the end of this section and something is still unclear, that is a fair thing to raise on the call before you agree to anything.
With us
- 01 The consultation fee is taken when you book your appointment. It is the only payment we take.
- 02 Your nurse call is included in it. Nothing extra is charged for the call, however long it runs.
- 03 Your doctor consultation is included in it too. There is no second fee between the two appointments.
- 04 If your nurse or doctor decides this isn't the right service for you, we'll refund your consultation fee in full.
Later on
- 05 If you need to see a doctor again later, that consultation is charged at the same fee. There is no discount and no surcharge, it is the same number.
- 06 Nurse calls carry no fee, at any point. Not the first one, and not any of the ones after it.
- 07 If anything is prescribed, the pharmacy you choose quotes you before dispensing. That money goes to them, never to us, and we charge nothing to send the prescription there, or to send a copy of your record to your GP.
- 08 Neither the PBS nor Medicare subsidises what a pharmacy charges. Some private health extras may; that is a question for your fund.

01Nurse
You pick the time yourself
Choose a slot from the calendar when you book, so you are not waiting on anybody to call you back. Fill in the intake form, and an Ahpra registered nurse then takes your history properly on the call, for as long as that takes.

02Doctor
A time the two of you agree
You and the nurse settle on a time for the doctor while you are still on that first call. Your doctor reads what the nurse wrote before the two of you meet, and no further fee falls due in between.

03Decision
You will know by the end of it
The decision is made during your consultation, so you are not left waiting on a letter to find out whether you have spent the money for nothing. Whatever the doctor concludes, the reasoning gets written down and the record is yours.
Being straight with you
Who decides, and when they decide it.
If your nurse or doctor decides this isn't the right service for you, we'll refund your consultation fee in full. The decision is made by the clinician who assesses you, during your appointment, and you hear it there rather than in a letter a fortnight later. The money goes back to the card it came from.
It covers the consultation fee, in the situation above. Anything a pharmacy has already dispensed stays with them, because that money was never ours. If you change your mind after your consultation, the fee is not refunded, because the consultation has already happened. None of this limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Not every service is right for every person. If we think your health is better served elsewhere, we will say so plainly, tell you why, and help you find somewhere to go. Nothing is settled in advance. You and your doctor talk it through, and you decide together what happens next.
