Good things

Three words we keep coming back to.

Each one a commitment about how we work, and the kind of care we provide to our community.

Sunlit foliage. Soft motion-blur of pink flowers among green foliage. Single grass seed-head in low evening sun. Leaf macro with sunlit pinholes in dark green.

I. Good Nature

In us. Around us. Between us. The starting point of feeling well is remembering we're part of something living.

Hands preparing fresh vegetables and herbs. Open hands with soil and seeds, pink flowers blurred behind. Fresh-pulled ginger and turmeric rhizomes cradled in hands. Hand reaching toward two ripe green passionfruit, low warm sun.

II. Good Medicine

Food. Sun. Sleep. Earth under our feet. Animals at our side. People we love. And, where needed, considered care from a practitioner who's listened.

Gardener tending plants in a greenhouse. Older woman laughing with open hands in a flowering garden. Two men with their dogs against a sunlit wall. Runner on a tree-lined dirt path, motion-blurred greens, mid-stride.

III. Good People

What grows when both are present. The people we're becoming, and the community we're building together.

The path in

Around thirty seconds to begin.

  1. 01Step

Check suitability and book your call

A short intake online (about 5 minutes), then pick a time for your nurse call. The $69 booking fee is captured here — fully refundable if your doctor decides treatment isn't viable for you.

  2. 02Step

    Nurse call, then your doctor

An AHPRA-registered nurse walks through your history with care, then a doctor reviews the clinical picture in an unhurried consult. Not five-minute appointments.

  3. 03Step

    Medicine posted to your door

If a script is written, our preferred pharmacy (or one of your choice) posts your medicine to your address. If no script is appropriate, your booking fee is refunded.

We come from advocacy.

Many of us were on the patient and carer side of this story long before we built the clinic, and we've seen loved ones go without. Reform didn't happen by accident. Patients, carers, doctors, nurses, and advocates fought for years to change the law. We've built this clinic to honour that work, and to keep moving in the right direction.

Safe access depends on good regulation, and we're glad of it. Every doctor and nurse here is registered with AHPRA, the national body that registers Australian health practitioners.

$69 booking fee. Medicine costs based on your prescription.

What we stand for

The world doesn't need more reasons to be careless with strong things.

Plants have been part of how people heal for as long as people have been healing. Most of the world's traditional medicine systems include them somewhere. That history asks something of anyone working in this space today. To take it seriously. To use the word medicine carefully. And to bring the same kind of attention people have always brought to powerful things.

It took a long road for legal access in Australia to exist at all. Patients, carers, doctors and advocates pushed for it through decades of prohibition and stigma. There's quiet relief in being able to offer this care in a safe, regulated environment. Time is what we have. The work here is in service of that: yours, ours, your doctor's, your family's.

Clinical care

  • 01 Appointments focussed on patient care and advocacy.
  • 02 A nurse and a doctor on every consult, thinking it through together.
  • 03 Every prescribing decision is written down, with the reasoning behind it.
  • 04 We talk on the phone. No text-only or fill-in-a-form prescribing.
  • 05 We check in with you regularly, with care and support.
  • 06 If you'd like us to keep your GP in the loop, we will.

How dispensing works

If a prescription is written, it can be dispensed at any TGA-licensed Australian pharmacy. Most of our patients use the pharmacy we work with. They post the prescription straight to your door, usually within a few days. You can also choose any other TGA-licensed pharmacy.

  • 01 If a prescription is written, it goes electronically, straight to the pharmacy you choose.
  • 02 Our partner pharmacy can post it to your address, usually within a few days.
  • 03 Repeats and ongoing supply are looked after by the dispensing pharmacy.
  • 04 Prefer a different licensed Australian pharmacy? Just let us know, and we'll send your script there.

When you're ready

No clock on the wall.

Nurses and doctors meet with you, take a full history, talk through your goals, and where appropriate, write a prescription. From there, your prescription is posted to your door by a licensed Australian pharmacy. Consultations happen by phone. Whatever the right call turns out to be, you'll come away with a clear next step.

The questions we hear most.

  • What is High Ground and how does it work?

High Ground is a telehealth clinic that connects you with qualified Australian doctors who have a special interest in natural therapies. Our telehealth platform lets you book, attend consultations and manage prescriptions online. All consultations at High Ground Clinic are conducted by AHPRA-registered medical practitioners who hold current TGA Authorised Prescriber (AP) approvals. Prescriptions are issued through the TGA's Authorised Prescriber scheme. We do not prescribe via asynchronous or text-only consultations. Our practitioners are in good standing with the Medical Board of Australia. Patients may request the name and registration details of their treating practitioner at any time by contacting our team.

  • Am I likely to be prescribed?

That's a clinical decision, not a marketing one. Our practitioners assess every patient individually. Some leave a consultation with a prescription, some don't, some leave with a referral elsewhere. We can't and won't tell you what your outcome will be before the consultation has happened.

  • Which states and territories does High Ground service?

High Ground Clinic is available to patients across all Australian states and territories: NSW, VIC, QLD, WA, SA, TAS, ACT, and NT. Prescribing regulations vary by state. Your doctor will confirm suitability and assessment pathways at consultation.

  • How long does a consultation take?

The initial nurse intake call runs 30 to 45 minutes. Doctor consultations are typically 20 to 30 minutes. Five minute appointments aren't a thing here.

  • Which pharmacy will dispense my prescription?

You are free to have your prescription dispensed at any TGA-licensed Australian pharmacy with an AHPRA-registered pharmacist. High Ground Clinic works only with pharmacies that are appropriately licensed under Australian law to dispense the medicines our doctors prescribe. Your doctor will provide your prescription electronically, or we can assist you in finding a licensed dispensing pharmacy near you.

  • What if I experience side effects or want to make a complaint?

Most side effects are mild and self-limiting. However, if you feel you are having a more serious side effect, stop taking the medication and contact us immediately. In emergencies, call 000 directly. To report a side effect or make a complaint, contact us via the contact form on our Contact page, or email hello@highgroundclinic.com. Serious adverse events may also be reported directly to the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) at tga.gov.au/report-adverse-event.

  • How do I contact High Ground?

The fastest way to reach us is via the contact form on our Contact page or by email at hello@highgroundclinic.com. Our care team aims to acknowledge enquiries within 2 business days.

  • Is it confidential?

Yes. Plain packaging from the dispensing pharmacy, secure clinical records, and your information stays between you, our team, and your prescribing doctor.
