Pricing
What a consult costs at High Ground.
High Ground has two consult prices. The $0 initial consult covers your first two calls, one with a registered nurse and one with a doctor, and you don’t need a card to book it. Follow up consults are $28 each. Existing patients book them in the patient portal at any time. High Ground charges no other fees, your fee stays the same whatever your doctor decides, and any pharmacy you choose confirms its own costs with you before dispensing.

Your consult fees.
How much does a consult cost?
The $0 initial consult covers your nurse call and your first doctor consult. Follow up consults are $28 each. Consultation fees cover the consultation only.
What does the $0 initial consult include?
Your $0 initial consult includes two calls, a phone call with a registered nurse and then a phone consult with a doctor. Your doctor reviews your history before the two of you speak, so the second call picks up where the first one finished. You don’t need a card to book it. After the consult, you decide whether to continue with us.
What do follow up consults cost?
Follow up consults are $28 each. You choose a time that suits you in the patient portal, then pay to confirm the booking. Follow ups are always with a doctor, who reviews your history before each consult.
Are there any other fees?
No. High Ground doesn’t charge anything besides its consult fees, including for copies of your records or letters.
Can I claim my consult on Medicare?
Our consults aren’t covered by Medicare. You pay for each follow up by card in your patient portal.
Is there a concession price?
There’s no separate concession price. The same prices apply to everyone.
Pharmacy, cancellations and changes.
What about pharmacy costs?
If your doctor issues a prescription, the pharmacy sets its own prices, including any delivery fee, and confirms the cost with you before dispensing. The pharmacy charges for this separately.
Can I choose the pharmacy?
Yes. You choose the licensed Australian pharmacy for any prescription. High Ground can suggest one, or you can name your own. There’s no fee from us, whichever pharmacy you choose.
Can I cancel or reschedule a follow up consult?
You can cancel or reschedule a follow up consult at no cost up to 24 hours before the booked time, in your patient portal. Within 24 hours of the booked time, or if you miss the consult, the fee is non-refundable. A consult counts as missed when your clinician calls at the booked time and tries three times over 10 minutes. If we need to cancel or move your consult, or it falls through for a reason within our control, we’ll offer you another time or a full refund. These rules cover follow up consults, which are the consults you pay for.
Does the fee depend on what my doctor decides?
No. Your fee is for the consultation, whatever your doctor decides about your care. For a follow up consult, a clinical decision about your treatment isn’t on its own a reason for a refund. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law always apply.
Will your prices change?
If High Ground’s fees change, we’ll show the new price before you book, and tell you at least 14 days before the change takes effect. A follow up consult you’ve already paid for goes ahead at the price you paid.
Where are the full terms?
Our fees, cancellations and refunds are set out in full in our terms. To see each step of a consult, read how it works, and for everything else, see our FAQ.
