FAQS

The answers,

About High Ground

High Ground is a Telehealth clinic that connects you with qualified Australian doctors who have a special interest in natural therapies. Our telehealth platform lets you book, attend consultations and manage prescriptions online.

No. You don't need a referral, but we may ask you to provide some supporting documentation if your health is complex, or you have multiple specialists involved in your care. You can complete our pre-screening questionnaire and book your consultation, and our clinical team will advise you if there's any further paperwork required.

We assess adults (18+) with chronic conditions that haven’t responded well to first-line therapies. Your overall suitability for certain treatments are just one part of the assessment your doctor makes, and is based on factors such as your current diagnosis, your treatment history, and any other medical conditions you have.

There are some conditions where treatment has the potential to cause more harm than good. If your individual circumstances aren't suitable for care in a telehealth setting, our clinical team can refer you onto services where you might be better suited, including referring you back to your usual treating GP.

Booking & Consultations

You can book online through our website after completing our quick pre-screening tool. Appointments are typically available within 24 hours.

Initial consultations take about 30-45 minutes in total, split across an initial nursing assessment and then a separate doctor consultation; follow-ups with your doctor are usually closer to 15 minutes.

Yes. You can reschedule or cancel up until your appointment time by emailing us, but please give us at least 24-hour notice so we can make that time available for other patients. Appointments cancelled within 3 hours of their start time won't be eligible for a refund.

You don't need a webcam. Our practitioners will call your mobile directly at your scheduled appointment time. This call is from a local Brisbane (07) number. If you miss the call or experience technical issues, contact our team and we'll help you to reschedule.

We strive for continuity of care and where possible, we will always book you with the same doctor for follow up appointments. There are circumstances where we may need to change your provider, and if this occurs we'll let you know.

Pricing & Payments

Our standard consultation fee is comparable to other clinics, all doctor appointments are $69 (initials and follow ups). Your initial nurse assessment is included in the consultation fee.

No. We believe in transparent pricing; there are no application or prescribing fees to pay.

We accept major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, AMEX).

While we don't currently offer concession discounts on consultations, we are looking at this and are developing a concession program to support patients over the longer term.

Prescriptions & Medication

Treatment plans are individual, your doctor will review your medical history, discuss ongoing symptoms and chat with you about your preferences, what you’ve tried before and what treatment goals you’re looking to achieve. Treatment plans should be centered around the best way forward for your particular circumstances.

Costs vary depending on your condition and the medication prescribed; your doctor will discuss prices during your consultation, and there are concession ranges available which may help to lower the cost. Most products are not PBS-listed.

Contact our care team for advice or book a follow-up to adjust your treatment. It might be that you need some guidance on dosing, or perhaps a different treatment pathway altogether is more suitable.

Most side effects are mild, and self-limiting. However, if you feel you are having a more serious side effect, stop taking the medication and contact us immediately. In emergencies call 000 directly.

Ordering & Delivery

If your doctor prescribes a medication as part of your treatment plan, you will receive an invitation for a pharmacy portal where you can place orders, review your prescriptions and view your repeats. Dispensing and express delivery are arranged directly by the pharmacy, and there are several delivery options to choose from. Your portal invitation will cover the details.

Standard express shipping is a flat fee (around $10). Most orders arrive within 1–3 business days.

You can update your address and track deliveries through the pharmacy portal.

If it's a delivery issue like a parcel not arriving, please liaise directly with the pharmacy (we can also help you with this). If there's a product quality issue, the pharmacy team are the best people to chat with initially.

Insurance & Concessions

Some treatments are not PBS-listed, meaning there is no rebate and the cost is fully covered by the patient. Some private insurers offer rebates for non-PBS purchases; it’s best to check this directly with your insurer.

We are still setting up our concession program. If you're a current patient, we'll let you know when this is all up and running so you can access the most cost-effective treatment pathway.

Switching & Transfers

Yes, absolutely. You'll need a discharge letter or your current prescriptions, and our team will handle the transfer process. It's important that you only attend one clinic at a time.

Support & Privacy

You can reach our care team via contact@highgroundclinic.com for any questions or concerns. Your enquiry will be answered by the most suitable team member, which could be a nurse or a general customer support representative.

Yes, we use compliant, Australian Digital Health Agency conformant clinical software to house your medical records. Your nurse and doctor will take a comprehensive history at your initial visits with us. Your information remains confidential and within your patient record, which is only accessed for the purpose of providing care to you. We are required to keep medical records by law for a certain period, and any data storage occurs in Australian servers.
